Everybody wants naturally glowing skin, healthy nails, and shiny hair. Generally, the best way to achieve this is from the inside out. Proper absorption of nutrients from foods will allow your body to glow. Drinking green smoothies is an excellent way to get all those beneficial ingredients into your body during one meal.

This particular smoothie is featured in a book, "The Beauty Detox Solution," by Kimberly Snyder. It is called the Glowing Green Smoothie. The idea is to drink this special smoothie every morning for breakfast.

One important thing to consider is you want to have all organic ingredients. It may be a little more expensive but it is worth it. When detoxing, you want to especially avoid eating things that have been treated with pesticides. It is also a good idea to add ice to your smoothie if you want it colder and have more of a shake-like texture.

The Glowing Green Smoothie uses common ingredients. You first blend one and a half cups of water with two handfuls of spinach and a head of romaine lettuce. You then add a chopped apple, pear and celery to the mix. Adding a banana helps make the smoothie taste better and gives a creamier texture. Lastly, you toss in a bit of parsley, cilantro and the juice of half a lemon. Make sure it is mixed nicely. One serving size is 16 ounces. You can store any remainder in the refrigerator for the next day.
